
The Management Committee of the Port System Authority
of the Center-North Tyrrhenian Sea approved yesterday
unanimously the resolution to close the procedure
relating to the state of crisis of the entity terminating the procedure
launched in 2021 following the worsening of the already
difficult 2019 budgetary situation caused by the sharp reduction in
of freight and passenger traffic due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The
decision was taken on the basis of the report
technical-administrative investigation and the favourable opinion expressed
by the Board of Auditors. The audit highlighted the
overcoming the conditions that had determined the state of
crisis. The resolution will be transmitted to the supervising ministries and
to the Court of Auditors, entity control section.
The president of the Port Authority, Raffaele Latrofa, expressed great
satisfaction with the approval of the resolution "because
- he underlined - a procedure that for years has burdened
on the institution, making the activity more complex
and limiting in some cases the possibility of
intervene on fundamental aspects, starting with the staff and the
regulations, Since I took office - he added - I have considered
priority to give a decisive impetus to the definition of this
procedure, in the belief that the System Authority
should return to operate with full programming capacity and
management".
During the meeting, the Management Committee also took into account
Acknowledgment of the conclusions of the working group on the future
application for cruise units, giving a mandate to the offices of
proceed with the review of the Roma Cruise concession
Terminal, the equal joint venture of Costa Cruises, Marinvest and
Royal Caribbean, and the start of the technical investigation for
the lengthening and rectification of platforms 16 and 18, intervention
considered strategic for the future structure of the cruise sector.
