APL, the shipping group Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) of Singapore, the U.S. has bought 43 acres of CenterPoint Properties in Joliet area, near Chicago, which will implement an intermodal center.
The new center will be part of the CenterPoint Intermodal Center in Joliet, CenterPoint Intermodal Center along with two miles of Elwood, is the largest inland port in the United States. The new intermodal center of APL will be prepared by the end of this year and will replace the APL intermodal terminal that operates in Chicago since 1985.
