 Lo scorso anno il porto di Los Angeles ha stabilito il proprio record di movimentazione annuale dei container che costituisce anche un record di traffico nell'ambito più generale di tutti i porti statunitensi. Lo scalo californiano ha movimentato complessivamente 7.484.624 teu, con una progressione del 2,2% rispetto al 2004. Il dato conferma anche Los Angeles al decimo posto della graduatoria dei principali porti container mondiali (inforMARE del 5 gennaio 2006).
