Last year the volumes transported from Hupac have approached the levels record of 2008



In 2010 shipments carried out from the operator of arranged transport Hupac are piled to 690.251, with an increment 13.7% regarding 607.284 in the year precedence. Emphasizing that the cargo volume transported from the company has almost returned to the level of the year record 2008, the director of Hupac, Bernhard Kunz, have found that in the course of the 2010 "exchange of goods he has grown constantly. Thanks to the adaptation of our net to the evolution of the market - it has explained - we are successful to participate to the increase of the traffic and to consolidate the position of the track as important carrier".

Last year in the field of the arranged transport accompanied the company it has not carried out 679,066 shipments (+13.7%). Hupac has specified to have last year recorded, as already in 2009, an elevated rate of growth more in the transalpine traffic through Austria: the volumes are doubled thanks to the potenziamento of the segments Benelux-Italy and Scandinavia-Italy. A factor of substantial success - second the Helvetic company - is in such sense the profile of the axis of the Brenner that allows to transport the modern semitowings with lateral heights of four meters. Also the not transalpine traffic, in which they re-enter guiding Benelux-Austria/Hungary/Rumania, Benelux-Poland/Russia and Belgium-France/Spain, has reached the volume precedence the crisis bringing back an increase of 12.4%. In the transalpine traffic through Switzerland - it has observed Hupac - the increase is hindered by infrastructural deficiencies and problems of quality and has recorded an increment of 9.5%, but he is still inferior of 7.6% regarding the level of year 2008.

In the 2010 service of Travelling Freeway (Rola) through Saint Gottardo it has totaled 11,185 shipments, with an increase of 11.9% on the 2009 that however - it has specified the company - has not succeeded to balance collapse (- 39.5%) recorded in that year. Hupac has announced that by 1° January has remitted the management of the Travelling Freeway to the operator of arranged transport RAlpin and that, in such a way, the entire Rola service of Switzerland is managed by an only demanded society as from the Helvetic Federal Office of the Transports in the contest of contract for the management of the Travelling Freeway until 2018. Hupac has specified that also in future it will continue to on behalf carry out the services of sale and disposition of the Travelling Freeway of RAlpin.

With respect to the current course of the Hupac activity it has evidenced that, although the economic crisis seems old by now, in numerous fields critical the general conditions permangono. In particular, the strong revaluation of the Swiss franc ripercuote negatively on the revenues and forces the company to adopt ulterior measures on the depositor of the costs.

Between the challenges - Hupac has explained - the gradual decrease of the contributions to the management prescribed from the Swiss law re-enters also on the transfer of the transport of goods 2011-2018. "Together with our partner railway - the president of the company has said, Hans-Jörg Bertschi - we are on the lookout for new modality in order to obtain the necessary increases of productivity by means of an integration of the processes still more grip". Finding as the participation to railway enterprises SBB CFF FFS Cargo International and Crossrail realized in the course of the 2010 offer a good foundation in such sense, Bertschi has confirmed that Hupac has "a strategic interest for the presence of a railway market working on the axis of the Gottardo and in all Europe. We aim - it has added - for a tight and constructive collaboration with all our partner railway and consider that the open systems offer the best ones presupposed for the increase of the arranged transport".

From part its Bernhard Kunz, has emphasized the fundamental importance of the railway infrastructure for the development of the arranged transport: "in order to contrast the competition of the road - it has explained - we must penetrate inside of the economic areas with trains still longer, heavy and high, circulating in punctual and reliable way and without obstacles to the borders".
