Green light of the CIPE to the definitive project of the logistic platform of the port of Trieste



Today the Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning (CIPE) has approved of the definitive project for the creation of the hub harbour for the port of call of Trieste, with the possibility to realize a new logistic platform graces to a widening of the operating surface of about 250.000 square metres.

To the today's reunion to Rome the city council members to Finances and Infrastructures of the Region are taken part also Friuli Venice Julia, Sandra Savino and Riccardo Riccardi. Emphasizing that the decision of the CIPE unblocks 32 million euros that I decree of the minister to Infrastructures and to the Transports, Corrado Passera, had deliberated 24th February, the city council members Savino and Riccardi have remembered that the project already was approved of a ten of days ago in the preparatory reunion of the CIPE and - they have explained - "own after the pre-CIPE on 19 April we were reasonably sure of a positive appraisal of the project by the Committee, but now can officially declare that a great step ahead for the port of Trieste has been completed, after a wait that has extended in order too much time, for too many years, if we consider that of logistic platform for the giuliano port of call he began himself to ago speak quite a ten about years. Of the decision of the CIPE today, for this objective finally reached, we want to thank, on behalf of president Renzo Tondo, the national government".

"With the president of the Renzo Tondo Region, that we remember had interested on this topic minister Passera also little months ago - they have continued the two city council members - we cannot therefore that to be satisfied for the decision of the CIPE, than free the first state financings for the start of the work. The logistic platform of the port of Trieste represents an operation in a position to throwing again the activities of the port of Trieste but, more in general terms, those of the entire harbour system of the Friuli Venice Julia truly".

"Also in the light of this result, long attended but constantly sped up - they have concluded Savino and Riccardi - the engagement of the Region it goes now canalized towards the decisions of the European Parliament and the Council, that they will be called to make official the extension towards the ports of the Friuli Venice Julia of the Corridor Baltic Sea-Adriatic (from Helsinki and the Baltic Sea ports of call to the northern Adriatic), already inserted to end 2011 from the president of the EU Manuel Barroso between the infrastructural priorities of Europe".
