Livorno has signed a strategic agreement with the port of Santos



Last week the Harbour Authority of Livorno has signed an agreement of cooperation with the Companhia Docas gives to Estado de São Paulo (Codesp), society controlled from the ministry of the Ports of the Brazil that manages the port of Santos. The understanding previews the exchange of know-how-how and economic information in order to strengthen the bilateral relationships Italy-Brazil and in order to stimulate the commercial exchange between the two ports.

In particular, Santos and Livorno have engaged themselves to activate a communication channel for the common elaboration of advertising campaigns and the assistance of the harbour operators whom they want to activate new lines to regular frequency between the two Countries. Previewed moreover the sharing of studies and experiences in key sectors of harbour management, as the formation and the implementation of the technologies in the field of the modernization of the port utilities.

"The analogies between Livorno and Santos are many - the president of Codesp has said, Renato Barco - and are on that we want to work: on the management of the terminals, the integrated logistics, the plans of promotion and development of the port, on cargo handling. We have much to learn from one another and I consider that this profitable collaboration can carry to find solutions to us effective in order to face common problems".

The institutional mission in Brazil had been organized for a long time from livornese Port Authority, than it has not been limited to stipulate an agreement with Santos. With Santos, instead, it is renewed a society and a relationship that has more ancient origins: the first contacts with the main port of call of the State of Saint Paolo go back to 2012, when a first agreement of partnership for the planning of participations in harbour matter of logistics was signed.
