the Zeaborn German buys the Rickmers-Linie compatriot



The shipowning group German Rickmers has agreed the sale of the entire marine activities to the Zeaborn compatriot. The understanding previews that Zeaborn Chartering GmbH & Co. KG acquires the activity carried out from the Rickmers-Linie GmbH & Cie. KG that is currently of property of the same Rickmers-Linie and MCC Marine Consulting & Contracting GmbH & Cie. KG, these two last ones of entire property of Holding Rickmers AG.

In particular, the agreement previews that Zeaborn acquires the entire operating activity of the Rickmers-Linie, the focused on own fleet of multipurpose ships, and entire operating activity of MMC Navy, that it is centralized on the sale of bunker and the correlated services. The transaction will include also the dependent, the assets, the branches, between which the NPC Project A/S (former Nordana) bought last July ( on 1° June 2016), and the centers detached of the Rickmers-Linie and commercial contracts currently in being. The previewed price of the transaction is not announced.

The agreement previews that Bertram R.C moreover. Rickmers, chairman of the surveillance council of the Rickmers group, has a participation of minority in the Zeaborn Chartering.

The Rickmers group has specified that the cession of the activities of the Rickmers-Linie will not have some impact on employees, the marine services and the fleet rental in the long term of the company. Zeaborn will acquire also the marks Rickmers-Linie and Rickmers-Linen, that it will be able to use exclusively for the activities of which will take possession with the transaction.

Currently Rickmers-Linie has a fleet of nine multipurpose ships of the total ability to 270 thousand gross 2004 and capacities in tons that are constructed between 2002 to which a series of ships of the same taken type joins rental. Also Zeaborn work a fleet of multipurpose ships composed from 16 units of the total ability to 178 thousand tpl constructed between 2009 and 2013; moreover the company has others under construction 10 multipurpose ships of the total ability to 123 thousand tpl that it will take in delivery within the end of this year.

To conclusion of the transaction the fleet of Zeaborn and Rickmers-Linie, included those of NPC and MCC, will be formed gives about 50 multipurpose ships of the ability comprised between 7.500 and 30.00 tons.
