Moreover in 2016 to the crocieristici ports of the Mediterranean 13,476 cruise ships are landed altogether, with a decrease of the -0,5% regarding 13.533 ports of call in the year precedence.

The data on the carried out crocieristica activity in 2016 from the ports of MedCruise are introduced by the association in occasion of Seatrade Cruise Global, the world-wide fair of the crocieristico tourism that is shut today to Fort Lauderdale, in Florida. "Statistics of 2016 - it has emphasized the president of MedCruise, Kristijan Pavic - show positive developments in several parts of the Mediterranean and its adjacent seas. The relationship of MedCruise signals that in the 2016 main crociestici ports of the Mediterranean they have been Barcelona with 2.683.594 passengers (+5.6% regarding 2.540.302 pax in 2015), Civitavecchia with 2.339.676 passengers (+3.0% regarding 2.271.652 in 2015), Balearic Islands with 1.957.429 passengers (- 2.0% regarding 1.996.533 in 2015), Venice with 1.605.660 (+1.5% regarding 1.582.481 in 2015), Marseilles with 1.597.213 (+10.1% regarding 1.451.059 in 2015), Naples with 1.306.151 (+2.9% regarding 1.269.571 in 2015), therefore the Greek port of the Pireo that - with 1.094.135 crocieristi in 2016 regarding 980.149 in 2015 (+11.6%) - the port of Savona has climbed over classifying itself to the seventh place in the ranking of 2016, in which they follow to the eighth place the port of Genoa, than with 1.017.368 passengers in 2016 regarding 848.227 in the year precedence (+19.9%) when it had re-entered in the top ten of the crocieristici ports of the Mediterranean, it has exceeded in classifies Savona and the ports of Tenerife, therefore to the ninth place the port of Savona with 910.244 passengers (- 7.3% regarding 982.226 in 2015) and to tenth the ports of Tenerife with 884.173 passengers (- 5.2% regarding 933.154 in 2015).

While, in occasion of the participation to the Seatrade Cruise Global with the scope to introduce the Sardinia as only destination to introduce the world of the operators of the crocieristico market, the port of Cagliari has announced that in 2017 in the port of call fleeting ships of 24 crocieristiche companies regarding 256 thousand in 110 ports of call in 2016 are attended beyond 400 thousand fleeting for a total of 163 landings place of 41 different.
