In the first three months of this year, the revenues of the Thai Regional Container Lines (RCL), a shipping company that has a fleet of 46 container carriers employed in intra-Asian feeder services, amounted to 4.27 billion baht (133 million dollars), with a slight increase of 0.5% percent in the first quarter of 2019. Growth has been recorded despite a sharp decline in the volumes of containerized loads carried by the fleet that have been 489mla teu, with a reduction of more than -12% percent in the first three months of last year, growth that has been obtained also thanks to the effect of exchange rates. Operating profit amounted to 82.5 million baht (+ 135.8%) and net profit to 12.7 million baht compared to a net loss of -28.4 million baht in the first quarter of 2019.
