Today in the North Sea the 50 thousand medium range tanker Swedish Stena Immaculate deadweight tons Stena Bulks operated by the US company Crowley and the container ship 800 teu Solong by the German Ernst Russ operated from the Dutchman Samskip collided. According to the first reconstructions of the accident, the tanker, which according to the American Crowley was at anchor near the port of Hull, would have been hit by the container carrier which, coming from the Scottish port of Grangemouth, was expected this evening arriving in the Port of Rotterdam. The British Coast Guard has announced that A fire broke out on both ships.

Crowley specified that the accident caused the rupture of a cistern on the Stena Immaculate containing fuel for Jet-A1 aircraft that caused a spill of the product. In addition, the American company specified that the crew abandoned the ship following several explosions on board and all the seafarers are safe.

Samskip confirmed Solong's involvement in the accident. According to various sources, only one of the two seafarers ships would have been taken to hospital, while the others did not would have suffered damage.
