In the port of Civitavecchia the Port System Authority
of the Center-North Tyrrhenian Sea has taken over the
squares of quays 33 and 34 of the ferry dock.
Specifying that the completion of the works took place in
in advance of the deadline set for next May,
the extraordinary commissioner of the Port Authority, Pino Musolino,
highlighted that this delivery "will allow
implement and increase the operational areas of the port of
Civitavecchia of an additional 50,000 square meters of yards
completely urbanized, which are equipped with 11 light towers of 30
meters with LED lighting, which allows us to pursue the
objectives of the ecological transition and to reduce the impact
environment, a new fire-fighting system and new ducts
for future plant implementations". "From
Today - he added - we can thus have the complete use
of quay 33 (340 metres long) and quay 34 (of
length 320 meters) which allows us to have new spaces and berths
to attract further traffic and, at the same time, to focus on
anticipation of a new goal, as already done for
infrastructure works financed by the PNRR, compared to the dates
set for the end of the works".
The operation of quay 33 began immediately
with the arrival of the 200-meter-long Thermopylae car carrier,
managed by the Medov shipping agency, coming from Marseille-Fos
to land about 1,400 new KIA cars, with the use of about 40
workers between Ant. Bellettieri, Coop. CILP and Port Company of
Civitavecchia.
