
The Japanese shipping group Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has
announced today's acquisition of 80% of the share capital of
NYK Energy Ocean Corporation (NEO), the new company to which
all the activities of the Japanese ENEOS have been conferred
Ocean with the exception of those relating to the fleet for transport
of crude oil

July 2024). NYK announced that the acquisition of this
capital share was about 76 billion yen
($508 million).
NYK specified that NEO operates a fleet of 47 vessels, including
18 LPG vessels, 18 chemical tankers and product tankers and 11 bulk carriers and
pointed out that, together with the 16 petroleum gas vessels
operated by NYK, the NYK group becomes one of the
world's leading LPG ship operators.
