
In the port of Colombo, the Colombo
West International Terminal (CWIT), the first terminal for
fully automated port of call containers
Sri Lanka. The terminal, which has a quay of 1,400 linear meters
with a depth of the seabed of -20 meters and a capacity
of annual traffic of approximately 3.2 million TEUs, is managed
by a consortium formed by the Indian Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd,
by the Sri Lankan John Keells Holdings PLC and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority

October 2021). The construction of the terminal was
launched in early 2022 and the investment in the project is
estimated at $800 million.
