
The terminal operator group DP World of Dubai has signed a
memorandum of understanding with the Government of the State of Ogun, in
Nigeria, and with the Ogun Deep Sea Port Company for the development of a
deep-water port and a special economic zone in the State
close to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal corridor
Highway. The project includes about four linear kilometers of
quays with a draft of -18 meters and a special economic zone on
an area of about ten thousand hectares. The planned investment amounts to
about seven billion dollars. The governor of the state, Dapo
Abiodun, announced that the ceremony of laying the first stone
will take place next month, to complete the work
within two and a half years.
