Today the Port of Taranto Committee has approved the Operational Plan Triennial Apulian port, the Port Authority presented by President Sergio Prete, acting by a majority of those present, 19 votes to 21, with the abstention of Nicholas Duni, director of the Interregional for Public Works of Puglia and Basilicata, representative of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, and Cosimo Serafino, Director of the Customs of Taranto, representing the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The Port Authority has explained that "the primary objective of which focuses on three-year operational plan is to make a port of Taranto, which is a third-generation infrastructure that goes beyond the provision related to the loading / unloading of goods and is in can offer the complete cycle of services in the logistics chain. This will increase the import / export to the benefit of the regional economy.As well as a wide-ranging projects, however, the document does not neglect a realistic view of issues that affect daily life and the need for all operators. "
