From the next spring the port of Livorno will have its Port Center



By tomorrow the Old Fortress of Livorno of new it will be opened to the public, from tuesday to Sunday, in the earlier stage with visits limited to organized groups second the tourist and cultural ordinaries whom led on of the territory that will reserve the access contacting the Harbour Authority of the Leighorn port of call.

In occasion of the announcement of the opening of the visits to the Old Fortress the livornese harbour agency has introduced the next edition, seventh, of "Port Opened", the project of opening of the port to the city promoted from the harbour authority in collaboration with the Tuscany Region and many other institutional agencies and associations. The main innovation of this edition will be the Livorno Port Center, an exhibition structure and of acceptance through which cards a new relation between port and city that will be the operating base inside of which they will be elaborated and perfected all the regarding initiatives Open Port. The Livorno Port Center will be an open space to the citizenship inside of which to discover the operating saperi, the offices, the professionalities and the technologies of the Leighorn port, revaluing also the patrimony of the intangible values and the cultural traditions of the portualità. The Livorno Port Center will rise inside one of the beautifulst historical places of the Four city of Mori: the Old Fortress. Inside of the Mansion of the Captain the visitor will find a distance museum to high technological rate: interactive screen and pavements, simulators and immersive projections to elevated interactive effects will carry the citizen, the tourist or the student to consider the memory as a place of virtual discovery which to reach in order to renew it anticipates. The exhibition space of 134 square metres will be shared in two great areas: dedicating to the port yesterday, another dedicated to that today. This last one will be in its turn uniform in others under specialized areas, through which it will become possible to more carefully know the merceologiche functions and the vocations of the harbour port of call. The first operating nucleus of the Livorno Port Center would have to see the light to May, in occasion of the celebrations of the European Day of the Sea in program on May 20, 2014 in concomitanza with the final event of Open Port.

Program 2013/2014 of Open Port among other things previews guided tours in port for the schools beginning from the next November that will be carried out a day to the week (three every day visits of two hours each: 9.00, 11,00 and 15,00), generally the Wednesday, for a total of 25 days and 75 visits. The classes that will participate to the visits will be able to approach the competition "Tell your port" that it previews the material predisposition (photo, video, presentations in power point, stories, etc) to introduce from on 22 April on May 5, 2014 near the center of the Harbour Authority. Moreover Cities of Livorno are previewed visits also for the citizens during the period of the Trophy Naval Academy (April 2014).
