Net tonnage (Suez Canal Net Tonnage) of the ships that in the 2016 have crossed the channel Egyptian has turned out pairs to 974,2 million tons (- 2.5%), of which 174,0 million relative tons to the oil tankers (- 2.1%) and 798,8 million tons to the ships of other type (- 2.7%), of which 552,4 million relative tons to the portacontainer (- 0.6%), 96,5 million tons to rinfusiere (- 5.5%), 16,5 million tons to multipurpose ships (+2.9%), 54,3 million tons to the car carrier (- 4.5%), 61,2 million tons to the ships for natural gas which liquified (- 16.1%), 10,0 million tons to ships ro-ro (+10.8%), 3,7 million tons to fleeting ships (+14.1%) and 5,2 million tons to the ships of other type (+12.0%).

In the 2016 ships journeyed in the Suez Canal altogether transported 819,1 million tons of goods (- 0.5%), of which 400,6 million tons on the ships that have crossed it directed towards south (- 4.0%) and 418,5 million tons on the ships journeyed in opposite direction (+3.2%).

Of the volume total of the cargo on the ships journeyed from north to south, 72,2 million tons of cargos were constituted by oil and producing oil (- 13.8%), of which 20,0 million tons of crude oil (+5.2%), 20,0 million tons of fuel oil (- to 23.5%), 9,2 million tons of naphta (- 49.4%), 6,8 million tons of gasolines (- 30.6%), 2,1 million tons of gas of liquified oil (+25.6%), 1,3 million tons of diesel oil (- 42.3%) and 12,7 million tons of other oil bulk (+94.4%). Moreover these ships transported 328,4 million tons of other types of goods (1.95%), of which 210,3 million tons of containerized cargos (+0.3%), 72,2 million tons of cereals (- 13.8%), 26,2 million tons of minerals and metals (- 12.9%), 8,0 million tons of producing in metal (- 15.9%), 8,0 million tons of chemicals (to +5.1%), 7,0 million tons of natural gas which liquified (+25.6%), 6,5 million tons of fertilizers (- 23.3%), 3,2 million tons of machinery and replacement parts (- 17.6%), 3,1 million tons of oils vegetables (- 0.1%), 2,2 million tons of oily seeds (+4.0%), 1,8 million tons of coal and coke (- 46.7%), 1,1 million tons of food (- 47.0%) and 4,2 million tons of other goods (- 2.8%)

Of the total volume of the goods on the ships journeyed from south to north, 114,8 million tons were constituted by oil and producing oil (+15.7%), of which 71,5 million tons of crude oil (+15.8%), 20,9 million tons of diesel oil (+36.1%), 17,7 million tons of gasolines (- 5.7%), 620 thousand tons of fuel oil (+22.8%), 520 thousand tons of naphta (+1,475, 8%) and 3,4 million tons of oil bulk of other type (+29.6%). Moreover the ships transported 303,6 million tons of not oil cargos (- 0.9%), of which 229,7 million tons of goods in container (+4.9%), 17,3 million tons of which liquified natural gas (- 21.0%), 16,4 million tons of producing in metal (- 7.5%), 10,7 million tons of chemicals (to +1.8%), 9,9 million tons of oils vegetables (- 9.6%), 7,4 million tons of coal and coke (- 33.8%), 3,5 million tons of machinery and replacement parts (+5.4%), 2,7 million tons of fertilizers (- 34.9%), 405 thousand tons of oily seeds (- 63.0%), 326 thousand tons of minerals and metals (- 36.3%), 269 thousand tons of food (- 49.0%), 103 thousand tons of cereals (- 64.0%) and 4,9 million tons of other cargos (- 6.0%).

In the single month of December of the 2016 channel it is crossed altogether by 1.414 ships, with a decrease of the -3,7% regarding 1.468 ships in December 2015. The oil tankers have been 364 (- 1.4%) and the ships of other type 1,050 (- 4.5%). The ships journeyed in the channel transported 74,4 million tons of cargos (+9.0%), of which 39,2 million boarded tons on the units directed towards south (+6.6%) and 35,2 million tons on the ships directed towards north (+11.8%).
