Viking Ocean Cruises will order two ships to Fincantieri with option for others two



Fincantieri will construct to others two cruise ships for Viking Ocean Cruises, than they will join already to the six ordered from the crocieristica company to the Italian navalmeccanico group. The two companies have in fact undersigned a new memorandum of agreement for the realization of two ulterior ships, with option for others two.

The two new cruise ships, that they will be delivered in 2021 and 2022, will be based on the same project of the other tidy and operating units. Fincantieri has remembered that the entire fleet of Viking Ocean Cruises comprises all cabins porch; every ship has a tonnage of about 47.800 tons and on board accommodates 930 passengers in 465 cabins. Moreover, as the other twin units, the most recent norms in navigation topic will be constructed second, and equipped of the most modern security systems, comprised the "Safe return to port".

Fincantieri has remembered moreover that the first ship for Viking Ocean Cruises, Viking Star, is delivered in the spring of 2015 near the yard of Marghera. The second one and third, Viking Sea and Viking Sky, are delivered to Ancona respective at the beginning of 2016 and 2017. The delivery to Viking of the fourth unit, Viking Sun, will happen at the end of the 2017 and that of fifth, Viking Spirit, in 2018. The sixth ship, still without name, will be delivered in 2019, making of Viking the greatest company than oceanic ships of small dimensions.
