Green light definitive to the project of coastal warehouse of GNL in the port of Ravenna



During final conference of the national WAY, this morning to the Ministry of the Economic Development it is given the go-ahead free definitive to the project which got ahead in partnership from Group Pir and Edison for the realization of a coastal warehouse for which liquified natural gas in the within of the port of Ravenna.

The project previews an investment of about 80 million euros and the Pir Group, specifying that the new occupied system will demand the insertion of 30/40, has evidenced that the warehouse of the adriatic port of call will be first in Italy to enter in activities in sight of the European directive that give 2021 obligate the fuel use to low sulfur content.

The warehouse will occupy a surface of 23.000 square metres in presses of the plants of the Bunge Spa and Enel headquarters, along the port of Ravenna, and will accommodate two great tanks from 10.000 cubic metres. The work of construction of the warehouse will begin in the late spring and will last almost three years. The project previews the implementation of a row for the transport of the natural gas liquid to means of ships to metaniere until the warehouse of reception for storage, and the next distribution by means of it I use of tankers and ships liquefied gas tankers.

In particular, the project previews the realization of the infrastructural and system participations necessary to allow the berthing of ships to metaniere for the drainage of the characteristic having GNL to the warehouse of cargo ability comprised between 7.500 and 27.500 cubic metres, the berthing of ships to metaniere (lighters) for the cargo of GNL from the characteristic having warehouse of cargo ability comprised between 1.000 and 4.000 cubic metres, the transfer of the produced liquid from the ships liquefied gas tankers to the storage tanks and from these last to the lighters ("terminals to ship"), through cargo arms, storage of the GNL, by means of a tank and two tanks to pressure almost atmospheric than useful ability to about 10.000 cubic metres everyone and the distribution of produced at the market through operations of loading on tankers ("the terminal to truck").

Satisfaction for the green light definitive to the project is expressed by the general manager and managing director of the Pir Group, Guido Ottolenghi, that it has emphasized as the great collaboration with the institutions has carried to the positive outcome: "- it has explained - we have always -to chip in with the public bodies, the technical authorities and the population of the area interested to the GNL warehouse, concluding a distance to the standard of the transparency and the efficiency".
