
After the -48.1% drop in revenues recorded last year
year following the historical peak marked in 2022 with 34.54 billion
euros, in 2024 the turnover of the shipping company
Hapag-Lloyd showed a recovery in the
+6.6% on 2023 having stood at 19.11 billion euros, of which
€18.75 billion (+5.6%) generated by the core business of transport
liner maritime sector and 401.1 million from the port terminal sector
and infrastructure, with a marked increase of +114.4%
mainly generated by the effect of the acquisition in 2023 of the
SAAM terminals that have been included in the scope of
Group consolidation as of the third quarter of 2023

August 2023). Ebitda amounted to
€4.65 billion (+4.2%), with a contribution of €4.51 billion from the
shipping (+2.2%) and €139.5 million from terminals (+203.3%). The profit
was 2.58 billion euros (+1.9%), with a
contribution of €2.51 billion from transport activities
maritime (-0.1%) and 66.3 million from terminals (+301.8%).
Hapag-Lloyd closed the 2024 financial year with a profit
net of 2.39 billion euros, down -18.9% on the year
previous.
Last year, the group's container fleet
transported volumes of goods equal to a new all-time high of 12.47
million TEU containers (+4.7%), of which 3.38 million TEUs
transported on transpacific routes and with Asia (+12.8%), 3.55
million TEUs on Asia-Europe routes (-1.6%), 2.73 million TEUs
on the Atlantic routes (+4.5%) and 2.81 million TEUs from services with
Africa and on intra-regional routes (+4.3%).
The German company announced that it recorded a
average freight value of 1,492 dollars/TEU (-0.5%), with a freight rate of
of $1,713/TEU related to transpacific services and
Asia (+5.1%), a market in which revenues totalled 5.35
billion euros (+18.6%), with an average freight rate of 1,509 dollars/TEU
for Asia-Europe services (+26.9%), a market in which revenues were
results of 4.95 billion euros (+24.8%), with an average freight rate
of 1,468 dollars/TEU relating to Atlantic services (-26.8%),
market segment in which revenues amounted to 3.71 billion
of euros (-23.5%), and with an average freight rate of 1,226 dollars/TEU for
services with Africa and intra-regional services (-4.4%), where the
revenues amounted to 3.18 billion euros (-0.3%).
