
In the fourth quarter of 2024, freight traffic in ports
decreased by -3.4% compared to the same period
of the previous year, amounting to 69.3 million tonnes,
of which 46.6 million tonnes at landing (-0.7%) and 22.7 million tonnes
of tons at loading (-8.5%). The
container traffic alone, which totaled 12.5
million tons (+10.3%) and was built with a
handling of containers equal to 1.4 million TEUs (+17.4%).
In the rolling stock sector, total traffic was
14.4 million tons (-1.3%). Bulk cargo also decreased slightly
liquid with 32.1 million tonnes (-1.9%), while a lot of
the decline in dry bulk cargo was accentuated
amounted to 9.3 million tons (-22.5%).
Among the main national ports, based on the data released
today by the Data and Statistical Studies Service of the French Ministry
of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion,
that in the last quarter of last year the port system
Haropa (Le Havre, Rouen and Paris airports) moved 20.7
million tonnes of cargo (-2.1%), of which 7.6 million tonnes of cargo
tons of containerized goods (+14.1%), 165 thousand tons of
rolling stock (+4.1%), 190 thousand tons of other miscellaneous goods (+9.0%),
10.6 million tonnes of liquid bulk (-4.3%) and 2.1 million tonnes
of tons of dry bulk (-30.4%).
In the port of Marseille-Fos, quarterly traffic is
stable result having amounted to over 18.6 million
tons (-0.4%), with container traffic that was
of 3.2 million tonnes (+1.1%) for a handling of
containers equal to 351 thousand TEUs (+6.9%), with rolling stock having
totalled 1.2 million tonnes (+11.1%) and other goods
miscellaneous 308 thousand tons (-24.8%). The total volume of
Liquid bulk cargo increased by +4.2% to 12.2%
million tons, while dry bulk cargo fell by
-26.4% to 1.7 million tonnes.
In the period October-December of 2024 traffic in Dunkirk is
11.3 million tonnes (+0.7%), including more than 1.2 million tonnes
million tonnes of goods in containers (+18.5%), 3.1 million tonnes of
tons of rolling stock (+6.1%), 298 thousand tons of other goods
miscellaneous (-13.4%), 3.5 million tonnes of liquid bulk
(+19.8%) and 3.1 million tons of dry bulk (-21.1%).
In the port of Calais, the total traffic was 9.8
million tonnes (-4.8%), of which 9.6 million tonnes of
rolling stock (-4.8%), 149 thousand tons of dry bulk (+5.3%) and
17 thousand tons of liquid bulk (-50.2%).
In Nantes-Saint Nazaire the overall port traffic figure
quarterly was 6.2 million tonnes (-17.9%),
including 306 thousand tons in containers (-18.7%), 82 thousand tons
of rolling stock (-13.8%), 65 thousand tons of other miscellaneous goods
(+26.0%), 4.5 million tonnes of liquid bulk (-21.1%) and
more than 1.2 million tons of dry bulk (-5.6%).
In the whole of 2024, French ports handled 279.5
million tons of goods, with a decrease of -0.6%
compared to the previous year, of which 182.5 million tonnes at landing
(-1.1%) and 97.0 million tons at loading (+0.2%). In the solo
container segment The total traffic was
49.7 million tons (+13.8%) with a handling of
containers equal to over 5.3 million TEUs (+11.5%). The rolling stock is
amounted to 58.2 million tonnes (+0.9%), liquid bulk cargo at
123.4 million tons (-3.5%) and dry bulk cargo at 44.1
million tons (-7.3%).
