The Port System Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea announced the activation of a participation and information for the updating of the Port Master Plans of Genoa and Savona-Vado which were drawn up respectively in 2001 and in 2005. Explaining that, following the definition of the development guidelines in the Strategic Planning Document of System, the Port Authority is developing the schemes of the new plans through technical and scientific surveys and evaluations supported also by experts in the sector who have deepened, in particular, engineering, transport, urban planning and the extraordinary commissioner of the Port Authority, the Rear Admiral Massimo Seno, underlined that "the drafting of the new Port Master Plans is a step crucial for the future of our airports. Careful planning and responsible is essential to combine economic growth, sustainability and territorial development. Involvement of local communities and stakeholders - he added - is essential to ensure that the port continues to be an engine development for the territory".

Initially, the public consultation project, carried out with the support of the consulting firm Avventura Urbana Srl, will focus on the definition of the process and the communication and participation tools, while meetings and consultation activities will take place within the summer involving the territorial, economic and social concerned.
