
Today in the port of Barcelona was inaugurated
officially the cruise terminal of the MSC group which is
became operational in February
(
of
31
May 2021 and
17
February 2025). The ribbon cutting took place in
occasion of the first port of
call of Explora II, the second ship of the
MSC's luxury ocean travel brand Explora Journeys
Cruises.

This summer there will be five MSC Cruises ships that will make
stopover in the capital of Catalonia as part of their cruises
in the Mediterranean: MSC World Europa, MSC Seaview, MSC
Seaside, MSC Magnifica and MSC Orchestra. Even the
luxury ship Explora II will call regularly
during the summer season.
The new cruise terminal will be equipped with a
cold ironing for the connection of ships to the electricity grid of
which will be available in 2027 and will allow
turn off the engines while docking in port, eliminating the
emissions into the environment.
