The Italian logistics group Magli Intermodal Service (MIS) has
announced that in 2024, net of the
industrial waste, 1.22 million tonnes of goods, with a
Slight decrease of -2% compared to 1.25 million tons
in the previous year, a decline - explained the Rezzato-based company
(Brescia) - "which must be read in the most
of the main reference sector related to the
steel production and trading of ferrous raw materials and
other commodities. A sector - specified MIS - that records a
-10% drop in exports, partly due to the decline in
quotations still pre-empting the impact on international tariffs on the
center of the geopolitical upheavals of recent days."
MIS specified that in 2024 the share of intermodal traffic
mainly focused on Germany (47% of the
volumes), with an expected increase in 2025 on a par with Sweden (2%
in 2024), also expanding sharply for 2025. On the contrary
in 2025 for traffic with the Netherlands (41% of the total intermodal transport)
provides for downsizing. On the road transport front, in the
2024, Italy confirmed itself as a stable market (27% of the
total), with growth prospects especially in trade with
Switzerland (currently 7% of volumes) and Austria (20%), while the
Germany (42%) shows signs of stability or slight
contraction, "an obvious consequence - observed the company -
of the drop in GDP and the effects of slowing down the supply chains
supply of the automotive sector". In total, in the
2024 MIS transported 77.5% of volumes expressed in tons
to and from countries across the border.
In 2024, MIS recorded a turnover of 61 million
euro compared to 61.5 million in the previous year.
