
Today in Genoa, on the occasion of the conference "The new
sustainable marine fuels - Decarbonize Shipping"
organized by the Port Authority, the maritime director of the
Liguria, Admiral Pellizzari, has signed the new
regulation governing LNG Ship bunkering operations
to Ship at the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa Sestri Ponente,
through a dedicated barge. Activities are subject to
international standards (IGC, IGF, ISO/UNI codes), both the barge
that the ship under construction must comply with requirements
specific technical-operational techniques, the personnel involved must possess
certified training according to STCW. The analysis of the
risk to determine the controlled zones and the safety zone within
which are allowed only strictly necessary operations. The
Regulation details authorization procedures, responsibilities
operational conditions, extreme weather and sea conditions, active safety measures
and passive and emergency procedures. For example, it is forbidden
prolonged mooring of the barge: only stops are allowed
in the roadstead with inert and certified tanks.
