Opec set to boost output
(BBC News)
June 21, 2000
Opec's oil ministers are meeting in Vienna, amid pressure to increase production and bring down soaring oil prices.
Oil prices hit $33 a barrel in New York on Tuesday - its highest close since 7 March and far higher than the $25 a barrel that both producers and consumers would like to see.
The knock-on effect has been a sharp rise in petrol prices.
