Legislation bolstering shipping and port security against possible terrorist threats is to be introduced in the new year, associate Transport Minister Harry Duynhoven said today.

A Maritime Security Bill would provide a "high level guidance" on measures required to ensure New Zealand was not a terrorist target, he said.
