War results in higher air-cargo rates
GETTING IT THERE: With time delays and more expensive delivery rates to Europe because of the US conflict with Iraq, firms could start to suffer if the war drags on
Air cargo rates are expected to surge up to 50 percent in response to growing demand and the fear of delays as a result of the US-led invasion of Iraq.
Both EVA Airways Corp and China Airlines Co said yesterday they are planning to raise air-cargo-shipment charges.
