The race is on to fit thousands of fire alarms to the Queen Mary 2, the world's biggest and most expensive cruise liner, after it was found that it did not fully meet fire regulations.

The A£500 million Cunard Line ship docks on Friday morning at Southampton docks, and the alarms will be installed in the bathrooms of all the ship's 1,300 cabins before it sails to New York 12 hours later ......
