Pakistan allows crew of Greek ship to go home

They have to return whenever required by court in Tasman Spirit oil spill case
(SINGAPORE) The crew of a Greek tanker that broke up near Karachi last July is to be allowed to return home until a verdict in their trial over Pakistan's worst ever oil spill, a minister said yesterday.
The long detention of the crew and the report of an official inquiry had been the subject of widespread concern in international shipping circles. The Pakistan government is demanding US$1 billion in compensation for environmental damage caused by the oil spill
