Operator trying to strengthen links with southern China airports ahead of privatisation
HONG KONG - Hong Kong's airport is in talks to buy a stake in a rival hub in the nearby Chinese city of Zhuhai.
The move is an effort to soften the impact of fierce competition among southern China's plethora of airports.
People close to the Hong Kong Airport Authority said it wanted to purchase a stake of at least 20 per cent in Zhuhai before the Hong Kong body's US$6 billion (S$10.2 billion) privatisation, likely to take place next year
