MANILA - Pacific rim economies yesterday vowed to strengthen security in vital sea lanes where oil supplies pass through in the face of threats of piracy and terrorism.
Energy ministers from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) forum said the grouping should guard against disruptions in oil supplies due to 'geopolitical instability, natural disasters, piracy on key sea lanes, and terrorism', since these could cripple the region's economies
