Maersk likely to cut ports in rejig

Maersk New Zealand is reviewing all the ports it serves, and some think Wellington could be in for the chop.

The shipping line said visiting nine ports in New Zealand was "probably" too many, with over-capacity at terminals.

A port companies analyst says Wellington Napier, New Plymouth and Nelson are in danger of losing services, though CentrePort said it was confident it would not be affected by the review ......
