Shares in Forth Ports soared as high as '20.31 in early dealings as rumours of bid for the group circulated around dealing floors.

A take-out price for the ports group was thought to be at around '23-a-share. After the initial jump in the shares, the stock later settled up a more modest 5pc to '20.10 ......
