BRUNEI is working on attracting more businesses to its industrial parks towards achieving its goal of becoming a regional logistics and distribution centre.
The sultanate currently has a number of investors engaged in so-called value-adding activity in electronics manufacturing "but on a small scale" said Souyono Salamat, acting director of the Ports Department.
"We want to promote more of these type of activities. Once (additional facilities) for the regional logistics and distribution centre are ready, we will also be looking for a big port player from the private sector to operate it," he said in an interview with The Brunei Times
