Customs strike to disrupt Australia's international air and sea ports

SYDNEY : Australian customs officers will launch a 24-hour strike from midnight Thursday, disrupting traffic into the nation's major air and sea ports, union leaders said.
The Community and Public Sector Union, which represents 4,800 customs staff, said the stoppage was called after the Australian Customs Service had ignored requests for further negotiations on wage and staffing issues ......
