After the first series of eleven Enterprise Zones established by the government early last spring in London, Wednesday British Prime Minister David Cameron has announced the identification of eleven other areas where development and create jobs through various incentives and to tax breaks for companies that will settle in these areas. In this second round of Enterprise Zones also include the Tees Valley, the area on the northeast coast of England where are located the ports of Tees and Hartlepool Port Authority area that are owned by PD Teesport Ports, a company wholly Canadian subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management Inc.
The aim of the institution of the Tees Valley Enterprise Zone is to attract entrepreneurial initiatives in the area that allow you to create by 2015 about 166 companies and at least 3,000 new jobs.
"We are pleased - commented the managing director of PD Ports, David Robinson - that we have done our part to help the Tees Valley Unlimited (the agency for the economic development of Tees Valley, ed) to convince the government to establish a Enterprise Zones in this area. This is a very important step to enable us to attract long-term investment in this area. "
"We are already working hard - has added Robinson - to attract new businesses in the port area, especially in the field of renewable energy, and no doubt these new financial incentives will enable potential customers to experience a greater interest in working with us."
Meanwhile, yesterday took delivery of PD Ports, Teesport in four new gantry cranes to Finnish Konecranes road ordered under the plan of the expansion of container terminal port of English that makes investments of 16.7 million pounds and increasing the capacity traffic from the current 235,000 TEUs of containers a year to 450,000 TEUs. The four lifting equipment have cost about five million pounds and are the first crane from Konecranes delivered this kind in the United Kingdom.
