Today the Deputy Minister of Infrastructures and Transport, Edoardo Rixi, has signed with the Minister of Transport of the Tunis Republic, Rachid Amri, a framework agreement of cooperation between the Italian and Tunisian governments with the aim to strengthen the bilateral partnership and to consolidate the role of the Mediterranean as a platform of economic and logistic development. The agreement expands and coordinates the collaboration in the areas of maritime, rail, road and air transport, logistics and intelligent mobility, creating a stable framework for the development of common projects and for an ever greater integration of the networks of connection between the two countries.

Among the main contents of the agreement are the strengthening of the technical and organizational capacities of public administrations and enterprises, training programmes for managers and technicians, the exchange of skills and good practices, the cooperation on new technologies applied to transport, electricity, green energy and infrastructure planning, as well as the realization of joint projects of national and regional interest.

"The signature of this agreement - it has emphasized Rixi - is a concrete result that further strengthens the relationship between Italy and Tunisia in a strategic field like that of the transports and the logistics. The Mediterranean must return to being a space of connection, growth and shared development. Italy confirms the will to invest in partnerships able to make more efficient connections, favor trade and support the competitiveness of our logistic systems".
