TX Logistik, a company that belongs to FS Logistix of Italian State Railways group, has entered into a collaboration with the Dutch Greenbrier Europe, part of the US group Greenbrier Companies, focused on the NIK transshipment system (Neutral Intermodal Key, formerly known as NiKRASA), which is has been developed by TX Logistik and allows quick loading on trains of non-craneable semi-trailers. The agreement, which includes a first order for 50 NIK platforms, expects that in the future Greenbrier Europe will take care of the production and leasing, while TX Logistik will continue to manage the commercial development and sales activities.

Thanks to the NIK transhipment system, semi-trailers do not cranes - which currently make up about 80% of European truck fleets - can be loaded onto trains quickly and easily. Using the system does not require changes to existing standards in terminals, railway wagons or railway infrastructure. The system therefore represents a a key lever for changing the distribution of the in favour of rail freight transport. In addition to semi-trailers, silos and trailers with a fixed structure, the system allows you to transfer mega-trailers, trailers without superstructure and container frames. If the platform remains empty on the wagon, it is still possible to load swap bodies and containers in the usual manner, without interference between systems.
