Le rapport de la sous-commission, qui est basé sur quatre auditions et une visite au port de Zeebrugge, présente cependant un récit saisissant des pratiques de sécurité dans ce qu’il qualifie “d’une des plus intensives routes de traite d’êtres humains”. Le rapport s’en prend plus particulièrement aux pratiques de P&O NSF et des services de douane dans le port côtier belge. Si la proposition a finalement été rejetée, c’est principalement dû à la promesse du ministre des Finances de mettre un scanner mobile à disposition.
