
The Seabourn company of the US group Carnival
Corporation sold the
cruise ship Seabourn Sojourn
to the Mitsui Ocean Cruises of the Japanese group Mitsui O.S.K. Lines
(MOL). The divestment agreement provides for Seabourn to charter the vessel from
Mitsui Ocean Cruises and continue to operate it until completion
of its world cruise scheduled for May 15, 2026, the date after the
which
the Seabourn Sojourn will be delivered to the
Japanese company that will use it in a market where
it is not in competition with Seabourn.
By March 2023, Seabourn had already sold a ship to the
MOL group: it was the Seabourn Odyssey that Mitsui
Ocean Cruises began operations last December with the
Name: Mitsui Ocean Fuji
(

March 2023).
Mitsui Ocean Cruises has announced that the Seabourn
Sojourn, of 32,477 gross tonnage and the capacity
of 458 passengers, which is the sister ship of the Seabourn Odyssey
and was built in 2010, will be used in
short and medium-length cruises off the coast of Japan.
