
Today in the Saint-Nazaire shipyard of Chantiers de
l'Atlantique three ceremonies were celebrated for as many ships
of MSC Cruises: the delivery of the new
flagship MSC World
America, the laying of the
MSC World Asia coin and the
cutting of the first sheet metal of
MSC World Atlantic.
MSC World America, which is the twenty-third unit
of the company's fleet, will be officially christened
on April 9 in the United States at the new MSC Cruise
Port of Miami Terminal. The new ship has a gross tonnage of
216,638 tons, measures 333.3 meters in length and 47 meters in length
width, and has a capacity of 6,762 passengers and
2,138 crew members with 2,614 cabins and more
38,400 square meters of public spaces.
In addition to the traditional coin ceremony, during which
some commemorative coins - as a sign of blessing and good luck
luck - they are inserted inside the ship, in this case
MSC World Asia to enter service this winter
2026-27 carrying out cruises in the Mediterranean to France, Italy,
Spain and Malta, MSC Cruises also celebrated the ceremony of the
cutting of the first sheet metal of the MSC World Atlantic, the
fourth "World Class" class unit of the
company that will operate in the Caribbean with departures from Port
Canaveral, starting in winter 2027-2028.
