Highlighting the ongoing job crisis that weighs on the system sea-port of Genoa, Genoa answering the FILT CGIL, CISL and Fit Uiltrasporti today reiterated the request to establish a joint board between social partners and employers' associations to meet the critical work.
In the grip of the crisis does not seem to escape even though the sector of shipping has shown some signs of recovery. Referring to the recent semi-annual report of the Observatory Couriers Transporters Association Freight Forwarders of Genoa (Spediporto), in the first half of this year found an average growth of turnover of the houses of the Genoese expedition of about 5% in continuity with the growth trend recorded in 2010 that ended with an average increase of about 10% (of 28 July 2011), in a statement the unions have pointed out that "these signs of recovery does not match at all, at least for now, a quiet job in the field."
"In the world related to forwarding agents throughout 2010, for 2011, particularly in June and July - have explained FILT CGIL, CISL and Uiltrasporti Fit - have signed agreements to make use of social safety nets to many employees in derogation of companies. These agreements, during the months of June and July 2011, involved at least 200 workers. Living with 700-900 euros per month (the amount varies depending on the worker's income) and families cope with the tasks - have kept the unions - it is almost impossible. The situations that we have to handle are dramatic and prevented a complete lack of perspective on the future of our city. "
"In the early months of 2011 - have continued FILT CGIL, CISL and Uiltrasporti Fit - we renewed, almost always for a year, most of the agreements in derogation of layoffs due. As trade unions we have always acted as a unit. This is a value for us and, we believe that only together we could better manage difficult situations. The reasons that are expressed at the tables? Contraction of traffic, slow turnover, conditions that prevent them from suffering to estimate fairly reliably on the terms, conditions and the actual size of the recovery. "
"The picture that emerges of the work situation in this sector, which - the unions have pointed out - it should be remembered is not covered by ordinary shocks, it is very serious. The only opportunity that these workers have declared a time of corporate crisis is to take advantage of the shock absorbers in derogation which, until now, the Liguria Region has been able to cope. "
Confronted with the employers' associations seeking to monitor and manage the trade unions in terms of perspective at this difficult time that is sweeping the world an important piece of work related to the port of Genoa and to clarify some fundamental aspects: "the problem - they said - for us is twofold. On the one hand, to understand clearly the reasons for which increases traffic and sales do not match, not only new hires but job stability. On the other hand our fear is that in face of a severe crisis in the world of work Genovese funds allocated for the dampers in derogation can not be sufficient.
