Collapse of Morandi Bridge has not caused a financial ruin of the traffic of the goods enlivened from the port of Genoa

In order to enter in the detail, to september the 2018 port has enlivened 4,83 million tons of goods regarding 4,66 million tons in the same month last year. The containerized cargos have shown a decrease of -3,4% coming down to the 2,04 million one tons, with a handling of containers that has been pairs to 212.326 teu (- 3.4%), of which 140,134 teu enlivened to the terminal of PSA Voltri-Prà (- 3.4%), 24,483 teu to Genoa Port Terminal (- 9.0%), 23,337 teu to terminal SECH (- 0.6%) and 16,732 teu to the terminal Messina (+1.8%). Less meaningful the bending of the goods conventional that has totaled 891 thousand tons (- 1.3%). If the traffic of the solid bulk in the commercial area of the port of call is diminished of the -38,0% to 19 thousand tons, that in the industrial area has grown of +17.8% to 220 thousand tons. In increase it has turned out also the traffic of mineral oils, that it is piled to 1,51 million tons (+18.7%), so as that of the other liquid bulk that has attested to 60 thousand tons (+10.9%), of which 32 thousand tons of oils vegetables and wine (+83.2%) and 28 thousand tons of chemicals (- 23.5%). Bunkers and supplies of edge have been pairs to 84 thousand tons (- 15.6%).

Positive (+8.0%) the balance of the month of september relatively to the passengers thanks to the rise of +32.8% of the crocieristi, with a total of 144 thousand fleeting, that it has more than compensated the light reduction of the -0,9% of the number of the passengers of the ferries that has been of 299 thousand unit.

To October 2018 the total traffic goods has been of 4,46 million tons regarding 4,72 million tons in the same month of 2017. The containerized cargos are dropped of -6,2% to the 2,09 million one tons, with a container handling that has been pairs to 211.723 teu (- 6.5%), of which 124,774 teu enlivened to the terminal of PSA Voltri-Prà (- 14.1%), 31,580 teu to terminal GPT (- 0.2%), 26,105 teu to SECH (+11.6%) and 21,941 teu to the terminal Messina (+37.9%). In decided resumption the goods conventional with 911 thousand teu (+8.5%). Decreasing, instead, the bulk, with 100 thousand tons of solid bulk enlivened in commercial section (- 18.8%) and 196 thousand in that manufacturer (- 20.2%), with 1,01 million tons of mineral oils (- 11.0%) and 57 thousand tons of other liquid bulk (- 4.4%), of which 47 thousand tons of chemicals (to +33.6%) and 10 thousand tons of oils vegetables and wine (- 58.7%). In light bending (- 0.5%) the supplies of fuel and supplies of edge that have been pairs to 94 thousand tons.

Last October the passengers are diminished of the -4,7%, with an increase of +3.1% of the crocieristi, gone up to 135 thousand unit, counterbalanced from a reduction of the -13,3% of the passengers of the ferries come down to 103 thousand unit.
