
In the first six months of 2026, ship traffic in the Straits of
Malacca and Singapore recorded an increase of +3.7% on the
same period last year, having passed through a total of
51,593 ships. Among the main types of ships, there is a decrease in
results only transits of ships for liquefied natural gas
(1.906, -7,8%). Very large transits almost stable
crude carriers (4,963, -0.7%) and container ships (13,325 ships,
+0,7%). Other tankers grew (11,513, +6.9%),
bulk carriers (10,600, +4.8%), general cargo ships (4,712,
+8.0%), passenger ships (1,690, +19.4%) and ro-ro ships (1,393,
+14,3%).
In the second quarter of 2026 alone, a total of
25,450 ships, with a decrease of -0.5% on the same period of the
last year. Only VLCCs (-9.5%) and ships decreased
LNG (-10.4%).
