Dans leur proposition, ils se concentrent notamment sur le financement des futurs travaux d'infrastructure et les services portuaires.

  • Sydney talks on several fronts
Efforts were continuing on several fronts yesterday in an attempt to improve the flow of cargo through Sydney ports.
The Sydney Ports Users Group discussed the situation at length, while one of the stevedores, Patrick, held a meeting with officials from the Maritime Union of Australia.
One of the members of the Sydney Ports Users Group, the commercial director of the New South Wales Road Transport Association, Terry Dene, told DCN the situation at Container Terminals Australia Ltd was becoming intolerable for truck operators.
While to its credit, P&O Ports was keeping the facility open well after normal working hours, truck operators were simply unable to secure slots, Mr Dene said.
  • Now for the battle of Bunbury
The Maritime Union of Australia claims that the newly elected federal government has rushed into a pre-election plan to privatise provincial ports in Western Australia and Queensland.

Mr Buck said he received advice from the BPA advising that the port intended to invite tenders for stevedoring, pilotage, mooring and hold cleaning.

Townsville Port Authority (TPA) CEO Lin Taylor said the result was "only one sugar ship short of one million tonnes for a single month".
The port has also recorded its best trading quarter, for the first quarter of the financial year, in which it handled 2,591,636 tonnes of product -- up about 13 per cent on the same period in the previous year.
