    Mr Moore said that the bounty had been extended for 18 months ending June 1999. "It is under review, and the government has made no final decision on its future beyond that point," he said.
  • Human factors behind Amber grounding
    Human factors have been identified as the main causes of the grounding of the Singapore-flagged containership NOL Amber on Larpent Bank in the Torres Strait on 1 November last year.
    The grounding occurred as the ship was turning around "to waste time" before entering a delineated two-way route off Goods Island.
