C'est en ces mots que Jan Strubbe, le directeur général de l'AWZ (l'administration des voies d'eau de la Région flamande), défend la décision de réaliser une darse à marée pour le traitement de containers sur la rive gauche de l'Escaut à Anvers. Strubbe réagit de la sorte aux récentes déclarations concernant une alternative réaliste pour le maintien de Doel.

    Ainsi qu'annoncé, la Commission européenne a donné son feu vert à l'acquisition par Deutsche Post des activités de transport terrestre de Nedlloyd. Mais elle a précisé que "d'autres questions relatives à la concurrence demeurent en suspens". La Commission va étudier l'origine des moyens mis en oeuvre par les postes allemandes pour réaliser toutes ces acquisitions.

    Un nouveau rapport sur l'amélioration des dessertes portuaires vient d'être remis au ministre des Transport par le Conseil National des Transports (CNT). Il dresse une liste d'actions urgentes à mener dans quatre domaines: la route, le cabotage maritime, les liaisons fluviales et le ferroviaire; ce dernier se voyant décerné la palme de "la grande priorité", tant les dysfonctionnements sont nombreux.
