    Le prestataire de services logistiques britannique Exel Logistics a signé la semaine passée un accord de location pour un centre de distribution à Hasselt d'une superficie de 10.000 m2. Exel y assurera la distribution d'équipements médicaux pour l'Europe du Nord. Hasselt signifie pour Exel une nouvelle base après celles d'Anvers, Zaventem, Overijse, Nivelles et Ternat. Ce dernier centre sera cependant remplacé en fin d'année par un autre plus efficace à Vilvoorde.

  • Bergesen 1Q Down 24%
    Bergesen d.y. reportedly posted a 24 percent drop in first quarter operating profits, hit by weak gas and tankers markets, and forecast weak demand would batter full-year earnings.
  • P&O Nedlloyd Loss Declining
    Container shipping company P&O Nedlloyd reported that first quarter operating losses declined $4 million to $22 million compared with the same period of 1998. Average revenues per TEU slipped to $1,297 from $1,417 .
  • Oil Prices Drop
    The undulating price of oil dove again on Wednesday, as futures for benchmark June Brent blend closed 39 cents lower at $15.57 per barrel after slumping 48 cents on Tuesday. Oil had peaked at $17.10 last week. The impetus: U.S. inventory statistics show a surprisingly large build in stocks of U.S. gasoline.
