Panamax prices REBOUND THERE ARE SIGNS that the slump in newbuilding prices may be over and that yards may be able to look to the future with more optimism. A deal struck by John Chandris for six ships may fill Far East yards with a greater resolve to hold out for better terms. The development may also be behind the surprise order of up to nine Panamaxes by Norwegian owner Andreas Ove Ugland.
